Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions

At a close 20 – 17, the Lions took the day against the Chicago Bears.

December 16, 2016, 6.45 PM CST

The Detroit Lions emerged victorious over the Chicago Bears last Sunday with a score of 20 to 17. However, it wasn’t on account of the fact that they were superior in their game play.

While the game was on the line – and when things were heated up and mattered most – the Bears found unique ways to get penalized severally. They snatched up the defeat from the very jaws of victory to the tune of 11 penalties over 139 yards.

Most of these penalties were leveled against the Chicago Bears during the 4th quarter when the team had the game right within their grasp. The clock management was also highly questionable.

Matt Barkley, the quarterback, got another chance on the field to relived Jay Cutler – who had been injured. He tried everything in his power to secure a win for the Bears.

However, seeing as how discipline is of utmost importance in the NFL, it seemed like the Bears had an easy time shooting themselves right in the foot during the 2nd half of the game.

Due to this loss, the Chicago Bears have fallen to 3 to 10 in the season. They are yet to battle it out with the Vikings, the Redskins, and the Packers.

Minnesota Vikings at Jacksonville Jaguars

The Vikings Beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 25 to 16 for their first road win since September

December 16, 2016, 6.45 PM CST

The Minnesota Vikings ousted the Jacksonville Jaguars with a final score of 25 to 16 during their match on Sunday. This was their 2nd win in 9 weeks. During the game, Matt Asiata got a score over a short touchdown run while Kai Forbath was responsible for 4 field goals.

Asiata got 3 chances to score but was stopped on a fourth and goal run smack in the 2nd quarter. He also fumbled right at the goal line during the 4th. However, these mistakes did not hurt the team against the rather hapless Jaguars, who were able to drop their 8th consecutive game. This is one of the worst seasons for Jacksonville, which fell to 0 to 6 at the EverBank Field.

The last time the Vikings won was September 25 at Caroline. This was all in good keeping, considering that if they had lost to the Jaguars, they would have drastically weakened their chances of a playoff. The Jaguars, on the other hand, have been solid in their prevention of long passes over the entire season. Before this match, they had allowed only 2 pass plays that were longer than 40 yards, only to give up 3 in the first half against the Vikings.
